On Wednesday, the second issue of Silent Talkie was released. This time my story was one of the features.
At first glance you might not think it belongs in an art magazine, but it deals with the intersection of celebrity and faith in a musical context … Okay, so maybe it still doesn’t belong in an art e-zine, but as long as they print it, I’ll keep submitting them.
The next part of the story will be released next Wednesday.

Nice work. As a reformer, I couldn’t help but notice the names John and Calvin, any specific reason for that?
Aside: when I first read the phrase “Pastor of Celebratory Worship”, it came out as “Pastor of Celebrity Worship”! Do such positions really exist? Google says no.

A good writer always has a good reason for everything.
Jokes get less funny when they are explained, and mine are barely funny to begin with, so I’d rather not have to explain my jokes, but here goes. Mega churches have large staffs, including many pastors. You can only have one lead pastor, one youth pastor, one small groups pastor, etc. After a while, it starts to get ridiculous. So “pastor of celebratory worship” was supposed to sound adequately ridiculous.

Ha ha, I guess the joke’s on me! Oh the irony, it was actually your explaination that made me laugh. Indeed, mega-church position titles are ridiculous, so much so that the joke went over my head… or maybe I’m just really gullible.
